Faith to Faith
10/14/2025
“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’”
- Romans 1:17 (NIV)
The gospel reveals something both stunning and simple: God’s righteousness is not earned, it’s received. Paul tells us that this righteousness comes “by faith from first to last.” That phrase paints a picture of a journey fully sustained by faith. It begins when we first believe and continues as faith shapes our daily walk, our choices, and even our hope for eternity.
I saw a program one time about a tightrope walker who had a line that stretched out over a canyon. The rope stretched from one side to the other. He methodically took one step after another as his full weight rested on the rope. That’s what living “from faith to faith” looks like, placing all of life’s weight on the strong and steady truth of God’s promises. You don’t trust the rope halfway and then leap on your own. You trust from start to finish.
In our world today, faith often gets confused with optimism or wishful thinking. But biblical faith is anchored in the unchanging character of God. It’s knowing that even when the ground shakes beneath us, His promises remain firm. Faith says, “I may not see how, but I know Who.”
When Paul quoted, “The righteous will live by faith,” he was reminding believers that righteousness is not about rule-keeping, it’s about relationship. God’s righteousness is given to those who believe in Jesus, and that faith keeps us standing when everything else fails.
Action Steps:
1. Identify one area in your life where you’re trying to “earn” what only faith can receive. Surrender it to God today.
2. Start your day by declaring: “Lord, I trust You from beginning to end.”
3. Journal one moment each day this week when you had to choose faith over fear.
Today’s Challenge:
Walk today as if faith were your oxygen. Breathe it in. Speak it out. Let every decision reflect confidence in God’s goodness.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for revealing Your righteousness through Jesus Christ. Help me live by faith, not by sight, not by fear, and not by my own strength. Teach me to trust You from the first step to the last. May my life be a living testimony of faith in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
