The Way, The Truth, and The Life
09/25/2025
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” – John 14:6 (NIV)
There are many roads we can take in life, but only one road leads to the Father. In this passage, Jesus makes one of the most profound and exclusive claims of His ministry. He doesn’t say He shows us the way, or that He teaches us the truth, or that He offers us life, He says He is the way, the truth, and the life. It’s not a direction, an idea, or a lifestyle apart from Him; it’s found in Him alone.
Imagine standing at a crossroads in a large city where every street promises to lead you to your destination, but only one actually does. Following the wrong street might look good at first, it might even be the most popular one, but in the end, you won’t arrive where you intended. That’s what Jesus is saying: every other way may look appealing, but only He leads to the Father.
In a culture where “your truth” and “my truth” are phrases we hear often, Jesus declares that He is the truth. Truth is not relative; it’s rooted in His person. And where truth exists, freedom follows. Likewise, the life He gives is more than breathing and surviving, it is abundant, eternal, and full of purpose.
Action Steps to Help on Your Journey:
Ask yourself today: Am I following Jesus as the way in my decisions, or am I relying on my own path?
When faced with confusion or uncertainty, declare His truth over your situation instead of your feelings.
Take a moment to thank Jesus for giving you not just existence, but real, abundant life.
Today’s Challenge:
Share with someone this week why Jesus is not just a way, but the way. Even a simple conversation could open the door for someone else to find life in Him.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being my way, my truth, and my life. Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to make my own path or leaned on half-truths. Help me walk closely with You, trust Your Word, and live in the fullness of the life You provide. May others see You in me today and be drawn to the Father. Amen.
