Living with True Wisdom
09/24/2025
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.”
– James 3:13 (NIV)
Wisdom in Scripture is never just about knowledge. You can be smart and still not be wise. James reminds us that true wisdom is shown in how we live, not just in what we say. Wisdom is not loud or boastful, but clothed in humility.
Think about a seasoned craftsman. He doesn’t need to brag about his skill; his work speaks for him. In the same way, a wise believer doesn’t have to advertise their wisdom. It’s revealed in a life of humility, service, and good deeds done for God’s glory, not self-promotion.
The world often mistakes arrogance for confidence and cleverness for wisdom. But God’s wisdom always produces gentleness, peace, and humility. When we walk in it, people see Christ reflected in us. A wise life is attractive not because it shines a spotlight on us but because it points others to Him.
Action steps to help on your journey:
Choose one area today to practice humility, maybe listening before speaking, serving without being noticed, or admitting when you’re wrong.
Pray before making decisions, asking God for His wisdom instead of leaning on your own understanding.
Look for ways to do a quiet, good deed today that no one else may notice but God will.
Today’s Challenge:
Live today in such a way that people don’t just hear your wisdom, they see it in your humility.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for reminding me that wisdom is not about sounding smart but about living surrendered to You. Help me walk humbly, choosing to serve, listen, and love as You guide me. May my actions reflect Your wisdom and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
