Seeking and Finding

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." - Jeremiah 29:13 ESV
Do you ever find yourself in a season of searching? A time when your heart longs for something more, something deeper? Maybe it's a longing for purpose, for healing, or for a closer relationship with God. Whatever it may be, know that you are not alone. Throughout history, God's people have experienced the same yearning, the same thirst for something greater. And in His infinite love and wisdom, God provides us with a promise in our verse today.
Jeremiah offers us a beautiful invitation, an assurance that when we wholeheartedly seek God, He will be found. It's a promise that transcends time and circumstances. Whether we are in seasons of joy or seasons of suffering, God is always near, waiting for us to turn to Him.
But how do we seek God with all our heart? It begins with a humble and sincere desire for Him. It's an acknowledgment that no matter how self-sufficient we may try to be, we ultimately need God's guidance, provision, and love. When we approach God with a heart that is open and receptive, He meets us where we are and reveals Himself to us.
Seeking God with all our heart also requires something; intentionality and discipline. It means making time for prayer, reading His Word, and cultivating a relationship with Him. We cannot expect to find God if we only seek Him occasionally or half-heartedly. He longs for our hearts to be fully devoted to Him, and when we prioritize Him above all else, we open ourselves up to experiencing His presence in a profound way.
Furthermore, seeking God with all our heart involves surrendering our desires, plans, and expectations to Him. It's acknowledging that His ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect. Sometimes, we may be tempted to seek our own will instead of God's will. But when we trust in His faithfulness and seek His guidance, He leads us on a path that is far better than anything we could have imagined.
As we journey through life seeking and finding God, let us remember that the pursuit of Him is not a one-time event. It's a lifelong journey, a continuous seeking of His presence and will. And in every season, let us hold onto the promise of Jeremiah 29:13, knowing that when we seek God with all our heart, we will find Him.
So, let’s seek God with all our heart today. Let us approach Him in humility, surrendering our desires and expectations. Let us make time for prayer and His Word, prioritizing Him above all else. And let us trust in His faithfulness, knowing that when we seek Him, we will undoubtedly find Him. May our hearts be filled with a deep longing for God, and may our lives be transformed as we experience His presence in a profound and intimate way.
