Make His Name Known

03/16/2026

There is something amazingly powerful about a life that does not keep God’s goodness private. One that’s not afraid to share Him and praise Him.

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.” Psalm 105:1 NIV

Today’s verse begins with a call to praise, but it doesn’t stop there. It moves from gratitude to proclamation. The psalmist is not only saying, “Thank God in your heart.” He is saying, “Tell the story. Speak His name. Let others know what He has done.” Praise was never meant to stay silent. Worship was never meant to remain hidden. When God moves in our lives, it becomes a testimony meant to bring hope to someone else.

So many people today are quietly carrying burdens. They’re wondering if God sees them, if He still answers prayer, if He is still at work in broken situations. That is why your story matters. The prayer God answered, the peace He gave, the door He opened, the strength He supplied in a hard season, all of it becomes a witness. You may think your story is small, but to someone who is barely hanging on, it may sound like hope.

I think about the moments in life when God has carried us through things we never would have chosen. The death of my parents, the miscarriages, the job loss. There are seasons when you do not fully understand what God is doing while you are in it. You just keep walking, keep praying, keep trusting. Then one day you look back and realize the hand of God was there all along. He was sustaining, guiding, protecting, and providing even when you could not see the full picture. Those are not moments to bury. Those are moments to share.

This verse also reminds us that praise is not just emotional; it is missional. We praise Him and proclaim Him. We worship Him and witness about Him. The goodness of God in your life is not only for your encouragement, but also for the strengthening of others. When you openly thank God, you remind people that He is real. When you speak of His faithfulness, you point people back to His character. When you make known what He has done, you lift eyes off circumstances and onto the Lord.

Maybe today the invitation is simple: stop minimizing what God has done for you. Give Him credit. Speak His name. Share His faithfulness. You do not have to preach a sermon to make Him known. Sometimes all it takes is a simple sentence: “God has been faithful to me.” That kind of truth can open a door for someone else to believe again.

Today, thank God out loud for at least one specific thing He has done.
Share one story of His faithfulness with someone.
Look for one opportunity to give God credit in conversation.

Your challenge today is to make God’s goodness public, not for your recognition, but for His glory.

Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness in every season of life. Thank You for the ways You have provided, protected, guided, and sustained us. Forgive us for the times we have stayed silent about Your goodness. Put praise in our hearts and testimony on our lips. Help us proclaim Your name with boldness and joy. Use our stories to encourage others and to point people back to You. Let our lives make known what You have done. In Jesus’ name, amen.
