Everyone Who Calls
05/07/2026
There are moments in life when people realize that what they have been leaning on is no longer enough. Success cannot heal the heart. Money cannot remove guilt. Relationships cannot fill every empty place. There comes a point where we stop trying to “fix ourselves” and simply cry out for help. The beautiful thing about God is that He never ignores a sincere call.
The gospel is not reserved for the polished, the perfect, or the religious elite. It is an open invitation to anyone willing to call on the name of Jesus.
“for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” — Romans 10:13 (NIV)
That one word, everyone, is filled with hope. It means the invitation includes the broken, the doubting, the addicted, the prideful, the fearful, and the wandering. No one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. Salvation is not earned through religious performance or good behavior. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ.
Think about the thief on the cross beside Jesus. He had no time to clean up his past, attend church, or make amends for all his wrongs. Yet in one sincere moment, he called out to Jesus, and Jesus responded with grace. That story reminds us that God is not looking for perfect people. He is looking for surrendered hearts.
Sometimes we complicate the gospel. We think we have to “get better first” before coming to God. But Romans 10:13 reminds us that salvation begins with calling on Him, not cleaning ourselves up. Jesus does the transforming after we surrender.
Even as believers, we still need to call on the Lord daily. In moments of temptation, confusion, grief, or exhaustion, there is power in speaking His name. The name of Jesus still brings peace to anxious hearts, strength to weary souls, and hope to people who feel lost.
Today, remember this truth: God hears every sincere cry. Heaven is not closed off to you. Grace is still available. Mercy is still flowing. Jesus is still saving.
Take a moment today and simply call on His name, not out of routine, but from your heart.
* Spend a few quiet moments honestly talking to God.
* If there is an area of your life you’ve been trying to handle alone, surrender it to Jesus.
* Encourage someone today who feels unworthy of God’s love.
* Speak the name of Jesus over your fears, worries, and struggles.
Challenge for the day:
Stop trying to carry what only Jesus can save you from. Call on Him with honesty, humility, and faith. Trust that His grace is greater than your past and His power is stronger than your weakness.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your invitation is open to everyone. Thank You that no person is too far gone for Your grace. Today I call on Your name again. Save me, strengthen me, and remind me that my hope is found in You alone. Help me to live with confidence knowing You hear me when I call. Use my life to point others toward Your love and salvation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
