We like to think nobody rules us.
Nobody tells me what to do.
I make my own decisions.
I control my own life.
But here's the problem: we all put something on the throne.
Israel wanted a king they could see—someone who would make them feel safe, powerful, and more like everyone else. God warned them what that king would cost, but they wanted one anyway.
Thousands of years later, we may be doing the same thing.
Success. Politics. Approval. Money. Relationships. Comfort. Control. Even ourselves.
We keep asking temporary kings to give us things only the True King can provide.
So this week we're asking a very personal question:
Who or what is sitting on the throne of your life?
