According to Our Ability
In the Parable of the Talents, Jesus tells us something easy to miss but life-changing to grasp: “The master gave to each servant according to their ability.” (Matthew 25:15)
That detail tells us two important truths. First, it reveals something about the Master—God knows us better than we know ourselves. He never gives haphazardly. He entrusts us on purpose and with purpose. Second, it tells us something about our calling—that the real measure isn’t what we’ve been given, but what we do with it.
This week we’ll explore:
Why God entrusts us differently—and why that’s a good thing.
How comparison and fear rob us of faithfulness.
What it looks like to step out boldly with what’s in our hands right now.
The tragedy of the parable wasn’t that one servant received less, but that he did nothing with it. Fear buried his gift, while faith multiplied the others.
If you’ve ever felt like what you have isn’t enough… if you’ve wrestled with comparison… or if fear has tempted you to play it safe, this message will remind you: God gave you exactly what you’re ready to carry. And He’s not looking for bigger, better, or flashier—He’s looking for faithful.
