The Master Returns

Oct 5, 2025    Pastor Jeff

We’ve been walking through the Parable of the Talents and discovering what it means to live as people entrusted by God. In Week One, we learned that everything we have is from God—on purpose, for a purpose.

In Week Two, we saw that what we do with what we’ve been given reveals who we trust.

Now, in Week Three, Jesus takes the story one step further: “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.” (Matthew 25:19)

This is the part of the parable that reminds us of eternity. One day, the King will return. One day, we’ll give an account. And one day, we’ll hear His voice—not measuring how much we produced, but how faithful we were with what He entrusted to us.

This week’s message calls us to live with eternal perspective:

To remember that the Master’s return is certain.

To see that God celebrates faithfulness, not flashiness.

To anchor our lives in the joy that comes from pleasing the King.

For the faithful, this is not a day to dread—it’s a day to long for. The reward isn’t just more responsibility, but the invitation of Jesus Himself: “Well done, good and faithful servant… Come and share your Master’s happiness.”

If you’ve ever wondered whether your unseen, everyday obedience really matters, this part of the story is for you.

Your faithfulness is not forgotten.

Your obedience is not wasted.

And your reward is eternal.
