The Mind of Christ
09/20/2025
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.”
– Philippians 2:5 (NIV)
When Paul wrote these words, he wasn’t just giving the church in Philippi a suggestion, he was giving them the very key to unity, humility, and love. The “mindset of Christ” is one of selflessness. Jesus, though fully God, chose not to cling to His divine privileges but instead emptied Himself, taking on the nature of a servant, and humbly obeyed the Father, even to the point of death on the cross.
Think about every relationship you have…..family, friendships, work, even strangers. What if you approached these with the mindset of Christ. Instead of pushing for your own way, you’d look for ways to serve. Instead of grasping for recognition, you’d give honor to others. That’s how Jesus lived, and that’s what Paul is challenging us to reflect.
Think of a family dinner table. If everyone came with the mindset of “what can I give?” instead of “what can I get?,” there would be peace, joy, and deeper connection. The same is true in the church and in our communities. When we adopt Christ’s mindset, we shift from being consumers of love to givers of love.
Action steps to help on your journey:
Pause before responding in a tough conversation and ask, “What would Christ’s mindset look like here?”
Look for a simple way to serve someone today without expecting anything in return.
Reflect on areas of pride in your life and ask God to replace them with humility.
Today’s Challenge:
Treat at least one person today with the intentional humility of Jesus, whether it’s listening more than speaking, offering encouragement, or serving quietly without seeking attention.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to think like You, to love like You, and to serve like You. Remove selfish ambition from my heart and fill me with humility. May my life reflect Your mindset in every relationship I have today. Amen.
