Tell the World What He Has Done

07/12/2025

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.”
—Psalm 105:1 (NIV)

We all love to share good news. When a child is born, a milestone is reached, or a blessing is received, our natural reaction is to tell someone about it. Today’s verse calls us to do the very same thing, but not just about the good things that happen to us. It calls us to make known the good things God has done.

This psalm begins a historical recounting of God’s faithfulness, starting with Abraham and moving through Israel’s journey to the Promised Land. But before any of those stories are told, we are first commanded to respond with praise, proclamation, and testimony. Why? Because remembering what God has done should compel us to worship and witness.

Imagine sitting at a family reunion, and someone begins to recount how your grandparents built a life from nothing, how they prayed through hardship, and how their faith laid a foundation for generations. That’s the spirit of this verse: God’s faithfulness isn’t just personal, it’s generational, communal, and global.

When God parted the sea, provided manna in the desert, or gave victory in battle, the Israelites didn’t just keep it to themselves. They sang about it, told their children, and declared it to surrounding nations. Today, we have even more to celebrate: Jesus Christ, the Savior who conquered sin and death. And yet, how often do we keep that good news to ourselves?

Sometimes fear, awkwardness, or busyness hold us back from sharing. But Psalm 105:1 invites us to break that silence. Speak His name boldly. Share what He has done in your life. Maybe it’s the healing you received, the peace in a storm, or the transformation of your heart. Each story is a thread in the greater tapestry of God’s glory.

Here are some things to help you on your journey.

Start your day by writing down three things God has done for you recently.

Share one of those with a friend, family member, or even on social media.

Pray and ask God to give you an opportunity to proclaim His name today.

Memorize Psalm 105:1 and use it to guide your praise.

My challenge for you is this:
Let someone know what God has done for you. Be intentional. Even if it’s just a short sentence, your words may be the seed God uses to stir someone else’s faith.

Father, I praise You today for Your unfailing faithfulness and the countless ways You’ve moved in my life. Forgive me for the times I’ve kept silent about Your goodness. Open my eyes to see Your hand at work and my mouth to proclaim it. Use my story to draw others to You. Let my life reflect Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
