Faith-Fueled Prayers

07/09/2025

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
— Mark 11:24 (NIV)

Imagine a child asking her father for something she earnestly wants, a bike, a puppy, or maybe a trip to the zoo. She doesn’t hesitate or weigh the odds. She simply trusts her dad. She believes not because of what she sees, but because she knows his heart. This is the kind of faith Jesus calls us to in today’s verse.

Jesus had just demonstrated the power of spoken faith by cursing the fig tree, and it withered. The disciples were amazed. But Jesus wasn’t trying to teach them about horticulture, He was revealing a deeper principle: that prayer, when joined with unwavering belief, moves mountains.

Please understand, this verse isn’t a blank check for any wish we scribble down. It’s about aligning our hearts with God’s will, praying in faith, and trusting in His perfect timing. Prayer is not a spiritual vending machine, it’s a relationship. Jesus is inviting us into deeper dependence and expectation, reminding us that faith is not passive but active. It believes before it sees.

George Müller, a Christian evangelist in the 1800s, is an example of this kind of prayer life. He operated orphanages purely through prayer and faith, never asking for funds but always receiving what was needed, sometimes at the last possible moment. He once said, “The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith, and the beginning of true faith is the end of anxiety.” He took today’s words to heart and lived it boldly.

What if we approached our prayers today with that kind of expectation? What if we believed before we saw? Not just that God can, but that He will, in the way that’s best for us and most glorifying to Him.

Here are a few things to help you on your journey.

Write down one thing you’ve been praying for, and beside it write, “I believe God is working in this.”

Begin your prayers with thanksgiving, even before the answer comes.

Stop rehearsing the “what ifs” and start proclaiming the “God wills.”

Take one step today as if your prayer has already been answered.

My challenge for you is this:
Pray boldly. Ask God for something specific that aligns with His character and will. Then, believe, not in the outcome, but in the One who holds the outcome.

Father, thank You for inviting me to pray with faith. Help me to believe before I see. Remind me today that You are not only able, but also willing to move in my life according to Your perfect plan. I surrender my doubts, my fears, and my timelines to You. Teach me to trust deeply and pray boldly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
