Everlasting Strength

“Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”
– Isaiah 26:4 (NIV)

Life often feels like shifting sand. Job changes, health issues, relationship strains, and circumstances beyond our control test our resolve. But Isaiah reminds us that while everything else may move, God remains immovable. He is the Rock eternal.

Think about how builders choose their foundation. No matter how beautiful the house, if the foundation is unstable, the whole structure is at risk. In the same way, when we build our lives on anything other than God, our success, money, talents, or even other people, we eventually find the ground beneath us giving way. But when our trust is in the Lord, we discover an anchor that holds through every storm.

Corrie ten Boom, who survived the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp, once said, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” She had seen humanity at its worst, yet she clung to the God who is eternal and unshakable. Her faith didn’t eliminate suffering, but it gave her strength to endure it. That’s what Isaiah means when he calls God the “Rock eternal.” Our stability doesn’t come from what we see but from the One who cannot be moved.

When you’re tempted to rely on yourself, remember that your strength runs out. When you lean on people, they can fail. But God, He is everlasting strength. He was faithful yesterday, He is faithful today, and He will remain faithful forever.

Action steps to help on your journey:

Write down three areas of life where you’re tempted to lean on your own strength. Surrender them in prayer.

Memorize Isaiah 26:4 and repeat it whenever fear or anxiety rises.

Share a story with someone about a time God proved Himself faithful in your life.

Today’s Challenge:
Take one burden you’ve been carrying alone and consciously place it in God’s hands today.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my Rock and my everlasting strength. Help me to stop building my life on things that fade and instead trust You with everything—my fears, my future, my family, my life. Teach me to rest in Your eternal faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
